Dr Baiding Hu is currently an Associate Professor in Economics and Head of the Department of Global Value Chains and Trade, Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce, Lincoln University, New Zealand. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Western Australia and has held fulltime teaching positions at La Trobe University and Macquarie University in Australia. He works in the areas of econometrics, macroeconomics and energy economics. His publications appear in reputable international refereed academic journals, such as, Resources Policy, Food Policy, PacificBasin Finance Journal, Canadian Public Policy, China Economic Review, Journal of Socio-economics (continued as Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics), Mathematics and Computers in Simulations. He supervises PhD students to undertake research on issues ranging from the role of fiscal policy in economic growth, macroeconomic impacts of technological innovations to the effects of value chain upgrading on export performance.
